Govt. Islamia College (W) Eidgah Road, Faisalabad is one of the most renowned colleges of the city, Faisalabad situated in the heart of the city. It occupies the unique place in the arena of women education, and has emerged as a leading center of learning. It caters to the diverse needs of the students.

The journey of Govt. Islamia College (W) Eidgah Road, Faisalabad started as Intermediate College in 1963 in its present building. It was upgraded to Degree College in the very same year. It was elevated to the Post- Graduate level in January 2002.

Govt. Islamia College (W) Eidgah Road, Faisalabad is affiliated with the board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Faisalabad for Intermediate classes and with Govt. College University, Faisalabad for Degree BS(Hons.) classes. In January 2002, the Governer Punjab Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool alloted approximately about 44 Kanals of land previously which was known as Govt. Muslim High School to Govt. Islamia College for Women. The Governer Punjab also upgraded it to the rank of Post-Graduate College in recognition of its outstanding performance in the field of Education. The College got approval of conducting Masters classes in the Disciplines of English, Economics, Home Economics, Psychology and Fine Arts. It covered another milestone in 2011 with the start of B.SC. and B.Com. classes.

A notable achievement of the year 2016 is occupation of Madrissa which was previously a part of the College. On 9th November 2016, it was entrusted to college formally in the presence of the Director Colleges Rana Munawar Hussain. It aimed at extending premises of college for BS classes and especially for Science disciplines in future. Recently in 2018, the Science Block has been further extended and a state-of-the-art computer lab has also been established to cater to the growing number and demands of the students.

Govt. Islamia College (W) Eidgah Road, Faisalabad has a unique distinction among all other Colleges in Faisalabad Division as it has been getting top positions in Faisalabad Board and Government College University, Faisalabad.
